I monitored police scanners for breaking news and respond to it on scene as it happens. I regularly contacted public officials for updated information on crimes across the state of delaware. I always fact-checked press releases from local and state police before posting them online.

I updated news features and produced original content in a high-pressure environment. I worked closely with AP Wires and other local media outlets to provide content for the site throughout the day. I assisted with early morning breaking news and work with the newsroom to create seamless work flow.

I reported on the South Philadelphia beat. I frequently pitched stories and completed multimedia projects with one colleague. We interviewed community activists, leaders and officials to cultivate a news source for a neighborhood commonly ignored at Philadelphia’s mainstream media outlets.

I transcribed text from WTXF anchors and other sectors of Fox news throughout the country to make short articles and write-ups for MyFoxPhilly.com. I cut video in Avid news cutter to accompany these articles. I frequently went out with photographers to conduct interviews to be aired on evening segments of the show.
